The first time I read The Stand, I was fighting some sort of cold or flu for a huge chunk of it.

Or at Katie's party, I think that may be the first time I'll see you.

But yes, Epitaph One was an interesting way to end the series in case it didn't get picked back up.

Also, I reread The Stand every few years around cold season.

Epitaph One was, IMO, the best episode in Season 1.

That was a very good episode. I enjoyed "Echoes." I loved Adelle and Topher freaking out in the Dollhouse. My favorite line being Adelle's, "I'm very British."

Tim, you still have Dollhouse, right?

Katie, you still have The Stand?

Did any of you guys borrow Dead Until Dark (the first Sookie Stackhouse novel) from my collection? As near as I can tell, I loaned it to Katie, but she borrowed the first two novels from someone else and...I'm not really sure what ended up happening. It's possible I loaned it to someone else on the spur of the moment after she borrowed them from someone else instead?

So confused. :(

I'll try to return Tales of the Slayer to you on the 10th, Autumn.

Would anyone be willing to lend me some Fables? I've found the first 4 collections in the local libraries, but Mean Streets and the one after that are eluding me.

Also, anyone own v.1 of Sin City (The Hard Goodbye)? Mattapan has #2-6, but not that one.

BTW, when I was at the library today, I found Book 2 of the graphic novel series Korgi, and thought of Katie. :P

So, Autumn, can I borrow First Lord's Fury this week?

Also, don't forget the Buffy comic, Mike :)

And, I got "Nightlight: A Parody" the Harvard Lampoon of Twilight, if anyone wants to borrow it. I'll be finished probably today sometime with it, it's very short.

You sure can -- I've got it stored in the same bag as the Christmas presents. And I think I'd be interested in reading Nightlight, if no one else wants to borrow it first.

You are marked down for first read rights, then! Well, as marked down as I ever make these things, but yeah. Remind me on Sunday!

Do any of you have Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke, by any chance? I figured I'd get around to reading it, finally, but couldn't find it in Pandemonium today.

I found Fables: The Mean Seasons at the library yesterday, but not Homelands, so decided it was time to request a hold on that (and request copies of the next volume of a couple other series from other branches). Dunno how long that will take, though...

Oh yeah--I have a whole lot of fables collections, though I forget which # it is you seem to be up to, Tim. I have some new ones I haven't read yet, and would like to read them myself before lending them out, but earlier ones I'd be fine lending out.

Post Re: The Borrowers
I've now read v.1-5 of Fables (up to comic #33).

I need v.6, Homelands (#34-41), next. (Only one BPL branch owns it, period.) Mattapan has v.7, Arabian Nights (and Days) (#42-47), but no branches seem to own v.8 (title=??; #48-51). If you're able and willing to loan me those three, Katie, that would be excellent!

Mattapan has v.9-10 and the Central Branch has v.11-12 (covering #52-82), so I'll be set for a while once I get that far. I have no idea what issue/volume the series is up to, but that seems to be as much as the BPL owns.

BTW, do you happen to own the Jack of Fables spin-off? When exactly in the chronology does that start? I *think* I'm up to that point, and Central has v.1-5, but wanted to check first in case of spoilers.

I don't have Jack of the Fables, but it is fairly obvious when his story spins off onto its own. I forget what volume that was in though.

Honestly, Jack of Fables is kind of an also-ran. I read it, but the really interesting stories are all in Fables proper; even the mega-crossover event was kinda meh.

You know, after reading the review on your LJ, Katie, I think I'll just borrow the first Mercy Thompson book from you and skip Nightlight -- though, actually, I'd be interested in borrowing Coraline as well, come to think of it.

Fair enough. Sylvia mentioned being interested in reading Coraline as well, so I'll see if she's looking to borrow it now or not. If not, no problem, all yours.
