Post Board Gaming on the 23rd?
So I'm unavailable this weekend, and my sister, brother-in-law and holy crap adorable niece are visiting next weekend, but how would you guys feel about getting together for some board gaming and/or movies in a couple weeks? Ha, I think the Twilight: Eclipse RiffTrax may be out, come to think of it. But generally I'd just like to get together. And I have games like Zombie Dice and Cthulhu Dice to bust out, and games like Kill Dr. Lucky/Save Dr. Lucky and Gloom that I'd like to bust out again.

I should be able to do the 23rd.

I got a couple LEGO Games (Wild Wool & Robo Champ) as Xmas gifts, so I may bring them. They're simple, silly, and short.

(ETA: FYI, I haven't even seen the first Twilight movie.)

You don't need a rifftrax to laugh at Twilight, just a pulse.

The RiffTrax helps. Oh God does it help. :P That mean you're in, Glombo?

I'm in, I'm just saying you don't need Rifftrax to make fun of that movie.

Yeah, yeah. Sounds like board gaming may be the preferred choice anyway? Though I'm still down with the awesomebad.

Where do we want to do this thang?

We can do it at my place; I'll just double-check with Sylvia, but I doubt it'll be a problem.

3 PM?

So, it's the 4 of us then, plus maybe Brandon? (I don't know what his curling schedule is)

Yes, please. Thank you, Tim.

I'm headed to Harvard afterward.

I wish I had them at work this morning, since I just spent 45 minutes waiting outside in the cold for a train. The only thing still cold is my feet right now.

I'm very amused that we played Smallworld yesterday, and then that was Erika's gift from Autumn. She's a big fan of Vinci, so she should like this one, too. (I did.) And she wants me to convey a big thank you for it.

And thanks again for the Cthulhu dice bag. (Did you happen to read the tag before wrapping it? It's priceless.)

And I bumped the gift ideas thread for you, Katie.

I think I glanced at the tag, but didn't really read it. Anyway, you're welcome on both counts. :) I'd heard of Small World, but hadn't really played; I just figured it was a well-reviewed game that could accomodate 2 people, and Mike said you guys didn't have it yet. Now that I've actually played I think I'll have to buy it for myself.

We played a couple games of Smallworld last night, and she enjoyed it. She still prefers Vinci, but admitted that might change once she knows Smallworld a lot better. It doesn't require extra rules for 2-player play (unlike Vinci, which is normally 3-6), so that will help, too.
